Elder's Day

What better way to start a blog, than to celebrate the elders day. Never knew, this day existed. Youth is the biggest addiction that a person can have. As long as we are on the positive side of 30, the very term "elderly" seems to spark off visuals of grey gentlemen going for morning walks in colony, pigtailed aunties bitching in park about their bahu-in-laws and how remote they all seem to us. They seem another species Homo Oldiens.
Cross the line of 30 by blowing away all candles on the cake and reality starts to bite in slowly yet steadily. We are down that path already and will be reaching there eventually. Still cannot visualise how we would behave or feel when we are old. But somewhere at the back of our cerebrum (whatever that means :), the though of mortality kicks in.

Let's not wait for any day for news dailies to remind us to show our gratitude, love for our elders. Every day time slips by. Act as soon as you can. Call up your (grand)parents and let them know they are special.
